On the 15th of July 2023 the UWC Moot Court Society hosted the 9th annual Kader Asmal Moot Court Competition.
The purpose of the competition was to honour and celebrate the life and service of the late Professor Kader Asmal. This year the hypothetical problem was based on Constitutional Law, Customary Law, and the Law of Succession.
The following universities were represented: The University of Johannesburg (UJ), Varsity College, Stellenbosch University (SU), and the University of the Western Cape (UWC). It was truly a thrilling competition which tested the participants’ legal drafting, legal research as well as their oral presentation skills.
In a unanimous decision, UWC which was represented by Mulalo Netshirembe & Bokang Moloko was held to be the winner of the competition. Indeed, the court was pleased!
