UWC’s Risk and Compliance Director elected as CAMPROSA EXECUTIVE

(Published - 14 November 2019)

UWC Director of Risk and Compliance, Bentley Ebrahim Jeftha, has been elected as the first treasurer of Campus Protection Society of Southern Africa (CAMPROSA).

CAMPROSA has been in existence for 24 years as a professional body, representing 24 of the 26 major institutions of higher learning in Southern Africa. It currently has 60 members comprising 24 South African Universities, and 4 from neighbouring countries.

Jeftha, who has served on various forums in different capacities, will hold his position in the new nine-member CAMPROSA national executive committee, until 2022.

“This election gives me the opportunity to make a valuable contribution towards risk management within higher education, and ultimately to enhance the student experience for all learners,” said Jeftha. “For UWC, this election affirms the University's commitment to ethical and transformational leadership and student development. This also shows the faith that other universities have in UWC's ethos and position in society.”

Jeftha wants to be an active member of the committee by giving meaningful input and assisting the new executive in taking CAMPROSA forward.

“We plan to build on the foundation that has been laid by our predecessors and enhance our footprint within Africa and the global sphere through the establishment of strategic partnerships, engagement with government and other legislative structures, and the utilisation of best practices within the Higher Education sphere.”
