[Watch] UWC Features in an Inspiring Physics Documentary

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) featured in the South African Institute of Physics documentary about physics in everyday life, released recently.

In the documentary, which was shot at universities and other physics institutions around the country, Professor Carolina Ödman of UWC’s Inter-University Institute for Data Intensive Astronomy talks about the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project phase one, which is under construction and is expected to begin its operations in 2024. Prof Ödman said SKA and the South African MeerKAT radio telescope are inspirational projects that come with a very comprehensive human capacity development programme.

The documentary also shows Professor Nico Orce working in the SA-CERN programme, which aims to make facilities at the European Centre of Nuclear Research in Geneva, Switzerland, available to local researchers, technicians, engineers and students. Click the link below to watch the full documentary.
