Dear Campus Community,

We are delighted to share the release of the 12th Edition of the UWC Research & Innovation eMagazine. This latest edition focuses on SDG 4, 8, 10, 11 and SDG 16:  offering a glimpse into the inspiring work being conducted across our university.

The 12th edition of The Future Research eMagazine captures the University of the Western Cape’s (UWC) dynamic role in shaping inclusive, transformative research by spotlighting the critical issue of language policy. This edition emphasises the powerful impact language has on access, equity, and identity within academic and social spaces. Through diverse contributions, it explores how multilingualism and indigenous language revitalisation intersect with institutional transformation, knowledge production, and social justice. The magazine reflects UWC’s commitment to embracing linguistic diversity as a foundation for inclusive education and progressive research.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to everyone featured in this edition. May their stories inspire future UWC researchers and broader communities to advance the education sector and beyond.
