UWC Continues Mission to Help With SA’s Youth Unemployment Struggles
Youth Month came to a close, but the University of the Western Cape (UWC) is stepping up to continue doing its bit to curb youth unemployment. UWC’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at the UWC Innovation Hub in Parow hosted seven of 14 training sessions to date, reaching 50 unemployed youth over the past two months, while continuing its goal of fostering a holistic, supportive ecosystem. |

For 20-year-old University of the Western Cape (UWC) BCom Financial Accounting student, Lesedi Majoe, the idea for a technology business started with a problem close to home: the money collected from his family’s taxis did not always add up. Growing up in a family involved in the taxi industry, Majoe had a first-hand view of the challenges of managing a business where large volumes of cash move through the system every day.
