The University of the Western Cape’s (UWC) Faculty of Dentistry has marked a major milestone by becoming the first dentistry school in Africa to join INSPiRE (International Network of Strategic Partners for Research Excellence) Oral Health Consortium, a prestigious international partnership dedicated to training the next generation of oral health researchers and advancing innovation globally.

UWC’s PLAAS to Represent Africa at Global Land Reform Summit in Colombia
The Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS) will attend the Second International Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ICARRD+20) in Colombia. This follows a successful meeting at the African Union’s (AU) sixth Conference on Land Policy in Africa (CLPA) in Ethiopia in November, where University of the Western Cape (UWC) Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic, Prof Monwabisi Ralarala, joined PLAAS at a high-level meeting of African Ministers and Vice-Chancellors. |

New Beginnings at UWC as First-Year Students Embrace Campus Life
Bright balloons framed the stage as the pulsating sounds of amapiano music boomed from large speakers beneath a beige stretch tent, sheltering hundreds of first-year students outside the University of the Western Cape’s (UWC) Unibell residence. The excitement built as two brightly coloured mascots burst onto the stage, dancing their way into the crowd’s attention.

UWC Contributes To Immersive Southern African History Project
The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is proud to announce its involvement in Futures_Past: Amplifying Memory with Immersive Technologies. This is an international initiative that brings Southern African archives to life through virtual and augmented reality, spatial audio and interactive exhibition design. The project is organised by the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS) in partnership with Electric South and several cultural and archival institutions across the region. |
