UWC Cements Legacy Of Prof Brian O'Connell With Building Renaming
The University of the Western Cape (UWC) has officially renamed its landmark Life Sciences Building the Brian O’Connell Life Sciences Building - a powerful tribute to one of South Africa’s most visionary education leaders. Completed in 2010, the building now stands not only as a centre for scientific innovation, but also as a living monument to Professor O’Connell’s enduring impact on UWC and the nation’s higher education landscape.

UWC Director Elected Deputy President Of Campus Protection Society Of Southern Africa
The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is proud to announce that its Director of Risk and Compliance, Mr Bentley Ebrahim Jeftha, has been elected Deputy President of the Campus Protection Society of Southern Africa (CAMPROSA) Executive Committee for the 2025–2028 term. The announcement was made during CAMPROSA’s Tri-Annual General Meeting, held on 8 October 2025 as part of its Annual Conference in George.
