UWC Ranked 7th in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2026 World University Rankings
The University of the Western Cape (UWC) has reaffirmed its position as one of the leading universities in the African higher education landscape. The recently released 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings has ranked UWC in 7th position in Sub-Saharan Africa, thus maintaining its place among the top 10 institutions.

University of the Western Cape (UWC) researcher, Eurinah Koeras, from the Department of Sport, Recreation and Exercise Science, has placed third in the 2025 Matariki Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition.
