The University of the Western Cape seeks to appoint external auditors for a period of 5 years, subject to annual concurrence for re-appointment by the Auditor General, commencing with the financial year ending 31 December 2025, in terms of the gazette Auditor General directive of 2021, the amended Public Audit Act and the gazetted PAA regulations.
The appointee will perform the Statutory Independent External Audit of the University and various other audit and assurance services for the University.
UWC invites established Audit firms, with favourable transformation credentials in the Greater Cape Town Area that have the capacity (size and expertise) and relevant sectoral experience to undertake the University’s audit and other related services in line with statutory and legislated requirements, and to add value to the University in so doing, to submit proposals for this appointment.

- At least 7 Partners/Directors locally, who are qualified CA's & RAA’s, and at least 15 Partners/Directors Nationally
- At least 20 Trainee Auditors with CTA's, in Greater Cape Town area
- Well established IT Audit/consulting division/unit, with the capacity to review and audit multiple processes with large volumes of automated and online activities, and partner the university’s digital transformation
- Minimum 5 clients, each with either an annual turnover in excess of R1 billion or with a Total Asset Value on the Balance Sheet in excess of R 1 billion
- Have the capacity and expertise to perform typical special procedures prescribed by AGSA
