SERVICES REQUIRED

UWC invites suitably qualified, competent and established Building Contractors with a CIDB Grading of 6GB or Higher, and based within the Western Cape Metropolitan Area to submit proposals for the Refurbishment of the Cassinga Residences (Blocks A, B, and C) at the University of the Western Cape.

CONTRACT DURATION

The fixed contract period is ten (10) months.

MANDATORY CRITERIA

To be considered for this tender, service providers must meet the following criteria / submit the following information / copies of documents:
 

• Payment of Tender Fees of R1 150.00 (Incl. Vat)
• Attendance at Compulsory Site Briefing Session
• Signed Form of Offer and Acceptance
• Fully Priced Bills of Quantities with rates for each item
• UWC Addendum to JBCC Principal Agreement Series 2000 Edition 5.0 Agreement (All pages must be signed)
• General Terms and Conditions and Operational requirements (All pages must be signed)
• Company Registration Document (CIPC)
• Proof of CIDB Grading 6GB or Higher
• Valid Tax Clearance Certificate / PIN
• Valid BBBEE certificate or EME or QSE affidavit where applicable, relevant to the Building Industry
• Latest Financial statements for 2 years not older than 2022
• Proof of a fully established and fully operational Western Cape Office (e.g. Municipal Bill, Valid Lease Agreement)
• Proof of Contractors All Risk Insurance for the value of the works, and Public Liability Insurance (Min Value of R20m)
• Contactable references for 5 Contracts of a similar size and nature which includes general repairs and renovations of existing structures, electrical, and heat pump installation. The reference to include name, contact details, email address, value of appointment and period of service.
• Company Profile & Company Organogram
• Project Organogram (to include sub-contractors etc.)
• CV’s of respective team members in the project organogram (Site Agent, Site Foreman, Health and Safety Officer, Quantity Surveyor, etc.
• Schedule of sub-contractors (Electrical, Electronics, Plumbing and Drainage, and Fire) – if in house kindly specify
• Indicative Project Programme (Proposed site handover 15 January 2025 - 10 Months construction period)
• Detailed Method Statements
• Industry specific certificates, affiliations (Certificates for electrical – ECB, Wiremans Certificate, Accredited HVAC&R Installer)
• Current Department of Labour Letter of Good Standing (COIDA)
• Signed Anti-Collusion Declaration
• Signed Declaration of Interest
• Signed Declaration in respect of Non-Affiliation with the State of Israel

NB: Tender submissions that do not meet the Mandatory requirements may be eliminated from the tender process and will not advance to the next stage of assessment. No points are allocated to this stage.
