PUBLICATION OF RESULTS FOR YEAR-END ASSESSMENTS

Results to be released on 14 January 2022 at 09h30.
 
Please note that the 2021 promotion outcomes for Masters (thesis only) and Doctoral students will be released and emailed to students on Wednesday, 22 December 2021. During this time, the student portal will not be available to view your results.
Promotions for all other students will run on 04 & 05 January 2022 and the 2021 final results will be released and available on Friday, 14 January 2022 @ 09:30am. The Student Portal will be available to view your results. Students will receive a letter of completion on 15 January 2022.

Students with a zero student account balance or students funded by NSFAS will have official electronic copies of their transcripts emailed to them between 15-20 January 2022. Students with a zero balance can also access their transcripts from their student portal.

IMPORTANT
UPDATE - Information on Release of Results:

Students who will be graduating (virtual ceremony) on 15 December 2021  will receive their full results and transcripts on 15 December 2021 (applicable to graduating students with no outstanding tuition fees).

Please note that results will be emailed to students and not accessible via the student portal.
 
  • Please note that results will be released (emailed to students) from 09h30 on 22 December 2021. for the programmes and year levels as indicated via study/academic-administration/publication-of-results.
  • Students with fees outstanding (even funded students) will not receive their results via email but only their final promotion outcome (i.e. Completed, Failed, May proceed, etc.)
  • Students with no fees outstanding and those funded by NSFAS will have a copy of their transcript emailed to them between 23-28 December 2021 (please note that transcripts will go out in batches and not all students will receive their transcript on 23 December 2021 but will receive it some point during the period mentioned earlier).
  • All students with a COMPLETED promotion outcome will receive an official letter of completion from 23-25 December 2021
Results for the following programmes and respective year levels (where students are NOT writing supplementary or special assessments) will be released on 22 December 2021 (only those students with no outstanding tuition fees).

All other students who are not in their final year of study or who are writing supplementary or special assessments will have their results published on 14 JANUARY 2022 as was indicated in the 2021 Academic Calendar approved by the Senate and circulated in September 2020.

IMPORTANT: Transcripts will not be accessible from 04 December 2021 to 13 January 2022, while the University completes its marks publication and promotions processes. During this time, the “view academic history” tab on the student portal will not be available to view results.

Please note that the 2021 promotion outcomes for Masters (thesis only) and Doctoral students will be released and emailed to students on Wednesday, 22 December 2021.

00 RESULTS NOT AVAILABLE
Your results are not currently available due to an administrative issue. Please contact your Faculty in this regard.

03 SDA GRANTED/SPECIAL EXAM
You have been approved for an SDA or Special exam. On completion of your exam you will receive either a completed promotion or a failed promotion. On receiving your results you may then proceed to register for 2022 if required to.

04 FAILED (Final Year)
You have not obtained enough credits to complete your degree but may continue to register for 2022.

05 RE-ADMISSION NOT ALLOWED
You have been academically excluded and need to apply for re-admission to the university. Email correspondence will be sent to you providing the necessary steps.

06 SDA GRANTED/SPECIAL EXAM
You have been approved for an SDA or Special exam. On completion of your exam you will receive either a completed promotion or be academically excluded.

07 PROMOTED
You have obtained enough credits to promote and can complete your registration for 2022.

08 SDA GRANTED/SPECIAL EXAM
You have been approved for an SDA or Special exam. On completion of your exam you will receive either a pass promotion or an academically excluded promotion. On receiving your results you may then proceed to register for 2022 if required to.

09 FAILED
You have not obtained enough credits to promote to the next level of studies but may continue to register for 2022.

10 RESULTS NOT AVAILABLE
Your results are not currently available due to an administrative issue. Please contact your Faculty in this regard.

11 NOT PROMOTED: NON-DEGREE PURPOSE/CE COURSE
You have not obtained enough credits to promote /complete a non-degree course or CE Programme to the next level of studies but can continue to register for 2022.

13 DO PROMOTION MANUALLY
Your promotion is incomplete and you must contact your faculty in this regard

14 PROMOTED: (PART-TIME)
You have obtained enough credits (Part-time) to promote and can complete your registration for 2022.

15 NOT PROMOTED: (PART-TIME)
You have not obtained enough credits to promote (Part-time) to the next level of studies but can continue to register for 2022.

16 SPECIAL ASSESSMENT GRANTED: MEDICAL
You have been approved for a Medical exam. On completion of your exam and receiving your results you may then proceed to register for 2022.

17 SUSPENDED
You have been suspended from the University

20 REFUSED ACADEMICALLY/CAN REGISTER
You have been refused academically but have now been cleared and you can continue your registration for 2022.

21 MAY PROCEED WITH STUDIES
You may proceed to register for 2022.

26 SUP EXAM COMPLETED/FAIL
You qualify for a supplementary exam and based on the outcome you will either complete your degree or get a fail promotion.

27 SUP EXAM COMPLETED/FAIL
You qualify for a supplementary exam and based on the outcome you will either complete your degree or fail Promotion.

28 PROMOTED IF SUCCESSFUL IN SD
You will promote if successful in your SD Examination.

29 DC PENDING - RESULTS WITHHELD
You have a DC pending and will not be able to register in 2022 until an outcome has been received of your pending DC Case.

30 SPECIAL ASSESSMENT GRANTED: NON MEDICAL
You have been approved for a special assessment (Non-Medical) and may proceed to register for 2022 once an outcome has been received.

31 MODULE UNDER MODERATION
Your modules has been sent for external moderation

32 THESIS SUBMITTED FOR EXAMINATION
Your thesis has been submitted for examination and you are not required to register in 2022.

33 EXAMINATIONS DEFERRED
Your examination has been differed to January 2022. On receiving your final results you may proceed to register for 2022.

34 LEAVE OF ABSENCE GRANTED
You have been approved a leave of absence in 2022.

35 MAY PROCEED WITH STUDIES: EXTENSION GRANTED
Your study extension has been approved and you may continue to register for 2022.

36 MAY NOT PROCEED: NO RESEARCH TOPIC APPROVED
You may not register for 2021 as there is no research topic that has been approved. Please contact your Faculty in this regard.

37 MAY NOT PROCEED: SUBMIT COMPLETION PLAN
You may not register for 2022 as no completion plan has been submitted. Please contact your faculty in this regard.

40 MAY PROCEED WITH STUDIES: FINAL EXTENSION GRANTED
You may register for 2022, however this will be your final year of registration. Should you not complete your studies within the year you will be excluded from the University in the following year.

Students with a zero student account balance or students funded by NSFAS will have official electronic copies of their transcripts emailed to them between 15-20 January 2022. Students with a zero balance can also access their transcripts from their student portal.

Should you have fees outstanding (i.e. have not settled all your fees) you will not receive an academic transcript or your full results, but will only receive your promotion outcome via the UWC Student Portal. In the event that you have fees outstanding you may request your academic transcript to be emailed on your behalf, to other institutions, employers or bursars by emailing helpdesk@uwc.ac.za and including the institution’s name, a contact email (to which it must be sent) and a reference/application number (if applicable).

Students with a zero student account balance can also access their transcripts via their student portal, the document may take up to 48 hours to be emailed to you, please do not request it more than once within 48 hours.

Cost of remarking exam scripts is R785 per exam script.
Before you request remarking of your exam script, the following must be in your possession:
Electronic copy of your certified ID
Electronic copy of your bank deposit slip for the fee outlined above

Senate Discretionary Assessments (SDAs) will take place from 24 – 26 January 2022. A student must qualify for this as per Rule A.5.2.8 Senate Discretionary Assessment (SDA) in the General Calendar.
