Publication of Results

Dear Student, please note the following important information:
Results for the 2020 academic year will be published on 18 December 2020 at 10h00. Results can be accessed via your UWC Student Portal at

Cost of remarking exam scripts is R 750.00 per exam script.
Before you request remarking of your exam script, the following must be in your possession:
Electronic copy of your certified ID
Electronic copy of your bank deposit slip for the fee outlined above

In addition to this, your results for 2020 will be emailed to you on the day of publication and an official academic transcript (stamped and signed) will be emailed to you between 21 and 30 December 2020. Both these processes will be done in batches which means that not all students will receive their emailed results or transcripts at the same time but over a period of days. We request your patience as you await your emailed results.

If you have completed your degree when results are published, a letter of completion will be emailed to you from 23 December 2020.
Should you have fees outstanding (i.e. have not settled all your fees) you will not receive an academic transcript or your full results, but will only receive your promotion outcome via the UWC Student Portal. In the event that you have fees outstanding you may request your academic transcript to be emailed, on your behalf, to other institutions, employers or bursars by emailing and including the institution’s name, a contact email (to which it must be sent) and a reference/application number (if applicable). This should be done from 4 January 2021.
If you are participating in the catch-up period from 7 December 2020 to 20 January 2020, your results will be published towards the end of February 2021.
Senate Discretionary Assessments (SDAs) will take place from 23-26 February 2021. A student must qualify for this as per Rule A.5.2.8 Senate Discretionary Assessment (SDA) in the General Calendar.
The University has taken the decision that no student who was registered for the 2020 academic year will be academically excluded from the University at the end of this academic year. In this regard any student that has failed and would normally have been academically excluded will now be allowed to continue with his/her studies in 2021 and will obtain a promotion outcome of Academically Refused/Can Register. This code will mean that a student will not be academically excluded at the end of 2020 but can continue with their registration for 2021 as per the registration processes.
Please note that in certain instances results are provisional and are subject to change. Although the University endeavours at all times to publish results accurately, errors may occur. An error does not give the candidate the right to a pass mark, distinction, or the award of a certificate, diploma or degree.

Details around the process for registration and tuition fees for 2021 will be available on our website from 11 January 2021. You are reminded that you are required to register for each year of study (by the stipulated timelines) and pay the required registration and tuition fees.
