The Office of the DVC: Academic (in collaboration with the Centre for Performing Arts, the Theology Department and African SUN Media) is hosting Prof Allan Boesak for the launch of his latest book, Selfless Revolutionaries: Biko, Black Consciousness, Black Theology, and a Global Ethic of Solidarity and Resistance.
Selfless Revolutionaries was inspired by the Black Lives Matter, and Fees Must Fall movements. Taking BLM and FMF as a point of reference, his latest book revisits much of his earlier work, especially those inspired by Steve Biko and Frantz Fanon.
The event will take place on 23 August 2022 at the Centre for Performing Arts (University of the Western Cape). It will start at 16h00.
