Dear Campus Community,

The University of the Western Cape is proud to present the 13th Edition of the Future Research eMagazine. This edition spotlights research aligned with SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

Inside, you will discover how our researchers are tackling urgent challenges, from food security and climate justice to land reform, water governance, and sustainable livelihoods. These stories are more than academic outputs; they embody UWC’s commitment to engaged scholarship that is collaborative, socially responsive, and rooted in justice.

Through innovation and impact-driven research, UWC continues to transform lives, empower communities, and shape a more sustainable and equitable future.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to everyone featured in this edition. May their stories inspire future UWC researchers and broader communities to advance the education sector and beyond.
