Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics offers degree programmes in undergraduate, honours, postgraduate studies. Our research focus areas include mathematical biology, algebra, stochastic calculus, mathematical physics, mathematics education, topology and category theory, and computational finance.

The undergraduate programmes on offer are Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics degree, and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics Extended Curriculum Programme degree.

We offer a one-year Bachelor of Science Honours in Mathematics degree programme. Postgraduate studies include Master of Science in Mathematical Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics.

Our graduates are employed in the financial sector, banking, the information technology industry, insurance, forestry, in various government sectors, and also as academics.
