The Department offers an honours programme, a master’s programme – either by full thesis or by coursework and a mini-thesis – and a PhD programme.

PHI735—Contemporary Philosophy
A selected topic or set of closely related topics at the forefront of current philosophical debate. This year it focuses on the results and consequences of experimental philosophy.
PHI736—Selected Topics on a Major Figure in the History of Philosophy
Study of the work of, or a particular text by, a major philosopher. This year’s focus is John Locke’s ideas of mind and body and their relation to contemporary philosophy of mind.
ETH731—Ethical Theory
Advanced topics in ethics and ethical theory, often with a focus on African thought.
