POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN FINANCE (1624)
The Postgraduate Diploma in Finance aims to provide qualifying learners with advanced competencies in mastering, analysing, interpreting and applying specialist and finance principles in preparation for a career in a wide range of finance fields, as well as provide a basis for advanced professional studies in these fields. ADMISSION
A bachelor’s degree with at least 30 credits in Finance or a cognate subject at the final year level, orThe Advanced Diploma in Finance or equivalent qualifications (Financial Accounting, Economics, Statistics) at HEQF Level 7 specialising in Finance, or
The Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, Financial Accounting, Economics, Statistics or equivalent. Such a qualification should be at NQ Level 7 and include the following modules: Corporate Finance, International Finance, Investment Analysis, Financial and Analytical Techniques or equivalent, or
A student in possession of the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, Financial Accounting, Economics, Statistics or equivalent may only be admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma in Finance if s/he has passed corporate Finance and Investments with at least 50% Continuous Assessment Mark and 50% Examination Mark or equivalent Level 7 qualification

APPLICATION
An application for admission shall only be considered from an applicant who has:- Completed the UWC online application – www.uwc.ac.za
- Submitted proof of NQF7 qualification which includes certified copies of all transcripts from all tertiary educational institutions attended.
- A foreign applicant, who has completed a 3-year qualification at an institution where English was not the medium of instruction will only be considered for admission into the programme if he/she provides proof of one of the following requirements: Test score of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or equivalent.
SELECTION
Final Selection shall be based on an applicant meeting the criteria as determined by the Faculty.DURATION
Unless Senate decides otherwise, the curriculum shall extend over 1 year (full-time) OR 2 years (part-time)B.COM HONOURS IN FINANCE
Our Bachelor of Commerce Honours (Finance) programme provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge. It has a strong focus on Finance research and offers a pathway to advanced academic degrees required for pursuing a career in academia. ADMISSION
A Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Finance or equivalent with an average of 60% at Level3; orStudents may qualify for the programme through RPL Rule. A2.1.4 applies to these applicants and will be considered on a case-by-case basis for each application.
An applicant who has completed the Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in a subject other than Finance (e.g. Economics, Financial Accounting, Management) has completed at least 2 level 3 Finance modules (i.e. FIN311, FIN305, FIN308, FIN321) or equivalent with a 60% average.

An applicant must hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, Honours in Finance or an equivalent in Finance qualification.Evidence of having completed a research methodology module will be expected.
The final average obtained for the degree must be an average of 60% and above.
SELECTION
Admission is subject to selection.DURATION
Students may complete the Masters within 1 year.The duration of the programme can be extended over three (3) years full-time/part-time.
However, the department expects a full-time student to complete within 2 years and a part-time student within 3 years.
