Honours
In our one-year full-time BA Honours programme, students are introduced to postgraduate study, completing three taught modules and a research project.Modules include:
- GES711: History and Philosophy of Geography, and Research Methods;
- GES731: Environmental Management;
- GES732: African Urbanism;
- GES738: Geographical Information Systems;
- GES740: Critical Geographies of Nature and Land;
- TOU741: Advanced Tourism and Development;
- TOU742: Theoretical Perspectives on Tourism; and
- GES701: Research Project (compulsory).
MA and PhD
Both MA and PhD are research-based programmes. Acceptance is based upon academic merit evaluated based on a written proposal; available specialised supervision; and satisfactory previous academic performance in Geography or a related discipline.
